IP Telephony Specialist

Key responsibilities:
- Installing, configuring, and managing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems within companies
- Accessing the internet protocol packet-switched networks and using this to exchange fax or voice information
- Helping set priorities for tasks relating to the telephony environment through in-depth knowledge of scheduled work, contract impacts, client needs executive direction, etc.
- Assisting peers when they are in need of additional technical information or support to perform their du ties
Required skills:
Technical:
- Experience with both analog and digital telephony
- Experience with IP telephony architecture and designs
- Knowledge of Asterisk, Avaya, Linux, Intuitive Telephony - VoIP, PBX, IP, Phone System
- Good understanding of the relationship between IP telephony and network services architecture
Soft:
- Demonstrated experience working with technical and non-technical staff
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
Qualifications:
- MSc or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication or in related fields preferred
- 2+ years of experience with IP switches/router/based networks
