We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Engineer with a proven track record in the oil and gas industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive HSE programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and fostering a culture of safety excellence.
Key responsibilities:
- HSE Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage HSE programs specific to the oil and gas industry.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement control measures to address hazards associated with activities.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with industry-specific HSE regulations and standards, ensuring compliance at all times. Interface with regulatory bodies and oversee permitting processes for the operations in the field.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Perform risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential hazards. Establish emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.
- Incident Response and Investigation: Lead and coordinate emergency response activities, including spill response and evacuation procedures. Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Safety Training: Develop and deliver specialized HSE training programs tailored to the unique challenges of the oil and gas industry. Ensure that all personnel, including contractors, receive appropriate safety training.
- Environmental Management: Oversee environmental impact assessments for oil and gas projects. Implement and monitor environmental management plans, addressing issues such as air and water quality, waste management, and habitat protection.
- Collaboration with Operations: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into project planning and execution. Work closely with management to communicate HSE performance and address concerns.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years’ experience in HSE roles within the oil and gas industry is must
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) or OISH (Occupational Safety and Health) are must.
- In-depth knowledge of oil and gas industry HSE regulations and standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
