Brief Job Description:
An oil and gas mechanical engineer designs, develops, and maintains the mechanical systems and equipment used in the exploration, production, and transportation of oil and gas. Their responsibilities include designing equipment like pipelines and turbines, analyzing equipment failures, ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations, and overseeing installation and maintenance in various environments, from offices to offshore rigs.
Job duties:
- Design and development: Create, test, and modify equipment such as pipelines, pumps, valves, and compressors to address operational issues or improve performance.
- Analysis and problem-solving: Investigate the root causes of equipment failure and develop solutions to prevent future problems.
- Project management: Manage and oversee the mechanical aspects of projects from initial concept to completion, including the assembly and deconstruction of drilling equipment.
- Safety and efficiency: Ensure that mechanical systems and equipment operate safely and efficiently by adhering to industry standards and performing regular maintenance.
- Quality control: Provide technical support for the procurement, installation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Field and office work: Spend time both in an office environment, working on designs and documents, and in the field, supervising construction and troubleshooting issues.
Additional requirements:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
- Work experience (years): Minimum 8 years
- Fluent in Azerbaijani and English
- Technical skills: A deep understanding of physics, chemistry, thermodynamics, and materials science is necessary.
- Software proficiency: Experience with specialized software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools is essential for creating and testing designs.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are critical for diagnosing and resolving complex issues.
- Collaboration: Must be able to work effectively with other engineers, technicians, and project managers.
- Experience in Rotating/Static Equipment
- Rotating Equipment Knowledge (Pumps, Compressors, Turbines)
- Static Equipment Knowledge (Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Tanks)
- Software Proficiency (Caesar II, PV Elite, Auto PIPE)
- Knowledge of Standards (API, ASME, ISO)
- Relevant Project Experience (FEED, Commissioning, Maintenance)
