Currently we are looking for Senior Consultant (Tax Reporting) for Tax & Legal Services
The role
The successful candidate will:
● Ensuring proper GL accounting and month-end closing entries and complying with relevant IFRS standards;
● Ensuring proper expense and revenue accruals and provisions in the books;
● Reviewing and checking all documents submitted for prepayment, ensuring proper accounting and following up with final invoices and allocation of prepayments;
● Ensuring proper Fixed Asset accounting;
● Acting as a back-up for AR accountant when needed;
● Supporting Finance Controller/Manager with month-end closure activities;
● Preparing balance sheet reconciliations;
● Taking the lead during internal and external audits of standalone and consolidated financials;
What we are looking for
● Proven experience as an Accounting Supervisor, chief or senior accountant;
● Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures;
● In-depth understanding of IFRS;
● Familiarity with financial statement;
● Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process;
● Hands-on experience with accounting software packages (Oracle and MS Nav is an advantage);
● Advanced MS Excel skills ;
● Accuracy and attention to detail;
● Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills;
● BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant;
● Relevant certification (ACCA or CIMA) will be preferred;
● Good understanding of local tax legislation;
● Oil & GAS experience is an advantage;

The role
The successful candidate will:
● Work side by side with experts in areas such as Banking and Finance; Corporate; Disputes Resolution and Commercial Litigation; Employment; Mergers and Acquisitions to provide clients with well-rounded advice backed up by sound legal expertise;
● Provide the legal research in rules and regulations related to client’s business;
● Provide legal advice on corporate and commercial laws;
● Participate in client’s meetings, provide the substantive input and draft the preliminary opinions;
● Help in preparing various legal documents;
● Proactively assist the team in various aspects of the project;
● Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen;
● Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues;
● Ensure you are adhering to compliance matters;
● Acquire skills and knowledge in legislation research, legal analysis and legal writing skills;
● Develop your technical skills on a daily basis by supporting projects and by interaction with our professional team;
● Work on developing internal relationships and your PwC brand.
What we are looking for
● A top graduate degree with major in Law;
● An LL.M. degree from overseas (preferably US or leading European) University would be an advantage;
● 3-4 years of relevant working experience Consulting background;
● Strong command of spoken and written Azerbaijani, English (Russian will be an advantage);
● Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point);
● Strong analytic and good problem structuring skills;
● Strong communication and negotiation skills;
● Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be effective independently;
● Willingness to undertake new and challenging tasks;
● Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion;
● Ability to demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.
● Fluency in spoken and written English is a must
