The following vacancy is available within the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Azerbaijan:
POLICY AND SUPPORT OFFICER COP29
The selected candidate will support the team of the Embassy to prepare for the contribution of the Netherlands to the COP29.
He/she will support preparatory incoming missions, report on the preparations of Azerbaijan as the host of COP29 and will support the Dutch delegation before and during the event. The policy officer will engage with senior officials in government departments of the Netherlands, key contacts within the Azerbaijani Government, the business community and civil society.
This is a full-time and fixed-term contract position until 30 November 2024, 5 working days, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare for incoming preparatory missions, developing and supporting the program of the visits.
- Monitoring and reporting on the developments in Azerbaijan regarding COP29 and related fields.
- Contribute to the communication of the Embassy on COP29 and related fields.
- Organization of events related to the COP29.
- Provide general support in other areas the Embassy is working on.
Requirements:
- University level education.
- Experience in the relevant fields.
- Good understanding of the political and economic development context in Azerbaijan.
- Ability to think analytically, knowledge of local legislation.
- External awareness, ability to network, client orientation.
- Able to take initiatives independently and think creatively.
- Proven ability to plan and organize.
- Experience in working with international organizations is a plus.
- Native speaker in Azerbaijani. Excellent oral and written communication skills in Azerbaijani and English. Knowledge of Russian language required.
- Interest in the Netherlands and its policies.
- Proven track record of impeccable professional and personal integrity.
