Linux System Administrator

Required Skills:

· Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments (Red Hat Enterprise, CentOS, other *nix OS)
· Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages
· A solid understanding of the Linux boot process and problem diagnosis
· Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Apache, MySQL, Nginx and SNMP
· Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining monitoring systems such as Zabbix, Centreon, PRTG and etc.
· General knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, HTTP, Load Balancers, Proxies, Firewalls)
· Ability to build and monitor services on production servers
· Excellent organizational, analytical and independent problem-solving skills

Nice to Have Skills:

· 3+ years of industry experience focused on Linux system administration
· Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related area of study
· Familiarity with load balancing and firewalls
· Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as Puppet and Chef
· Experience maintaining open source packages and/or working with the open source community
· Experience maintaining large scale Linux implementations
· Experience with storage or backup verticals
· VMware administration experience (preferred, but not required)
· Experience scripting and writing/modifying code to improve monitoring/deployment (preferred, but not required)
· Certificates – LPI, Red Hat, GIAC (preferred, but not required)
