Corrosion Engineer

Summary:
To review inspection findings, identify corrosion and damage mechanisms, and recommend construction materials for repairs and replacement equipment.
Responsibilities:
- To prepare a corrosion control document (Corrosion Control Document) for the units in Refinery;
- To Identify corrosion loops and breakdown mechanisms and prepare relevant documents;
- Participating Risk Based Inspection (RBI) studies, Criticality Analysis meetings, etc. within the framework of the Asset Performance Management (APM) program;
- To support Inspection Engineers during identification of Thickness Measurement Location (TML) as well as Integrity Operating Windows (IOW);
- Calculating the remaining life of equipment and lines based on thickness measurements performed by the integrity discipline;
- Actively participate during Investigation of leaks in static equipment and piping. Actively participate in preparation of root cause analysis (RCA) report;
- Preparing the monthly corrosion report and submitting it to the line manager;
- Actively participate in a group study of ACA, RCM, HAZOP, SIL, 5WHY, RCA, etc. organized by Reliability department when needed;
- To participate in all activities related to corrosion monitoring (using corrosion coupons/probes) and corrosion prevention (Cathodic Protection, painting, chemical inhibitor, selection of corrosion-resistant material-CRA) of all enterprises under the Refinery and Petrochemical Industry of SDM;
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a field such as Corrosion Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgy - Materials Science, Chemical Engineering;
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience as a Corrosion Engineer or Technical Control Engineer;
- Must be knowledgeable and able to work with NACE, ASME, API, and ASTM international standards and codes, particularly API-571, API-580, API-581, API-570, and API-510. Having a relevant NACE or API certifications is an advantage;
- Have an excellent level of writing, reading, and speaking English; International IELTS and TOEFL certificate confirming English language skills is an advantage;
- Microsoft Office knowledge.
