Job summary
The Senior Maintenance Planning Engineer will be responsible for providing all necessary assistance to the maintenance team concerning the entire planning and scheduling issues and road project activities oversight on M&E and Coordination related activities of the projects that is aligned with both the country’s needs and the regional/international standards. The potential candidate will remain active through all project phases and should work in close coordination with the senior management in MPW. He/ She must directly report to the Team Leader/ Project Manager of the team.
Job duties
- Planning and facilitating meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members.
- Provide technical expertise in all relevant areas, including developing appropriate methods for engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities;
- Experienced in coordinating with the contractor to produce recovery work programs in case of delay;
- Demonstrate expertise in the assessment and analysis of time-related claims;
- Ensure the development of the most appropriate methods for highway projects in the country;
- Show ability to develop and update master Implementation plan, works plan, and all other related plans;
- Ensure to incorporate the procedures for preparing project cash flow, man-power calculation and utilization schedules, recovery program to catch up delay, and also method to update the progress of project work;
- Identifies specific safety hazards that will be encountered in the performance of the proposed work
- Develop detailed work- pack for execution of the task, which is including but not limited to: wringing procedures, tasks and job, plans, estimates required hours on work order tasks, total work order duration, and skills required to perform the task, identifying or ordering required spares, identifying required technical support to implement tasks, including contractors, raising call-off with the contractor companies, procures equipment and specialized tools required to perform work
- Plans jobs with appropriate level of detail for the given skilled trades workforce
- Creating / Updating the schedule and comparing the actual work performed against the baseline program
- Plans workload for maintenance teams and de-conflicts resources.
- Performing resource allocations across all activities
- Identifying activities impacting the schedule’s critical path and facilitating the identification of rectification measures
- Prepares 2 weeks rolling plan and one weekly frozen plan
- Determines and includes QA/QC requirements on jobs
- Gathers necessary engineering or technical documents, specifications, and drawings
- Writes clear and concise work procedures
- Determines and arranges for parts required to perform the work (when no expediter exists)
- Plans parts for all activities to increase “wrench time” and maximize efficiency
- Povide work orders to the skilled trades in conjunction with the weekly work schedule
- Upon completion of jobs, communicates with skilled trades regarding ideas and procedures that would make future jobs more efficient
- Coordinates priority setting with the management team – places specific emphasis on obtaining the input of operations personnel in the setting of priorities
- Responsible for equipment and repair parts data entry and management
- Ensures all work orders and maintenance log items are closed when work is finished
- Participates in outage planning activities such as scope identification and control, scheduling, coordination, risk assessment, execution, and continuous improvement
- Participates with Reliability Department personnel on improvement projects, particularly when they are related to the proactive maintenance plan
- Performs other duties and assignments as required.
Requirements
Functional
- Plan labor and materials required to execute the orders
- Maintenance orders management & to make sure that all types of orders are closed in time
- Communicate work planning package information to maintenance supervisors
- Review work orders feedback information to improve future planning efforts
- Work closely with senior planner/TAR coordinator and department heads and other engineers to ensure a project runs on schedule and that material supplies are sufficient
- Communicate with maintenance, operations on frequent basis
- Recording performed activities
- Requesting and delivering materials thru work orders
- Tracking work history.
- Tracking equipment performance via orders
- Tracking maintenance costs
- Prepares job plans for scheduling, detailing parts, materials, special tools, external services and documentation with planned costs

Education and experience
- Minimum 7-10 years work experience in operations field (petrochemical preferable)
- Experience with SAP/CMMS systems
- Knowledge of current Primavera Enterprise Systems (P6) scheduling technology
- Advanced knowledge of English and Azerbaijani
- Good knowledge of Russian is an asset
