About the role:
- Bahar Energy Operating Company (BEOC), a SOCAR Group entity, is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the engineering, assessment, and delivery of offshore and onshore structural systems for field redevelopment projects in the Caspian Sea. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and code-compliant design, assessment, and integrity of structural components throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, from concept development and FEED through detailed design and execution support.
Key accountabilities:
- Perform conceptual, FEED, and detailed structural engineering for offshore and onshore facilities, including platforms, jackets, and topsides.
- Carry out structural analyses and design checks for in-place, transportation, lifting, load-out, and installation conditions.
- Prepare, review, and verify structural calculations, design reports, drawings, specifications, and material take-offs.
- Assess existing structures for life extension, modifications, and tie-in works related to brownfield and field redevelopment projects.
- Perform load assessments, fatigue analyses, and structural integrity evaluations in accordance with applicable international design codes and standards.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated, safe, and constructible design solutions.
- Provide engineering support during fabrication, transportation, offshore installation, and commissioning activities.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZID studies, constructability reviews, and technical workshops.
- Ensure full compliance with company HSE requirements, engineering standards, and regulatory obligations.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (a Master’s degree in the relevant field is an advantage).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering for offshore Oil & Gas projects.
- Strong knowledge of offshore structural design codes, standards, and recommended practices.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
- Experience or familiarity with fabrication, lifting, load-out, transportation, and installation engineering activities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams.
- High proficiency in spoken and written English.
