Are you eager to start and grow your actuarial or risk management career in the reinsurance sector? AzRe, the sole reinsurance company in Azerbaijan, is looking for a driven Junior Actuary / Risk Management Analyst to support our actuarial, risk, and solvency reporting activities.
Candidate requirements:
- A degree in Mathematics, Risk Management, Finance, Statistics or a related field.
- Strong command of English (written and spoken).
- Excel skills.
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Interest in actuarial science, reinsurance, quantitative analysis, and risk modelling.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong motivation to develop professionally and a commitment to actively pursue and pass actuarial exams after joining AzRe.
Main job responsibilities and job information:
- Assist in valuing insurance and reinsurance liabilities under IFRS 17 and Solvency II frameworks.
- Support the preparation of actuarial reserving analyses, including:
- building and maintaining actuarial triangles,
- assisting with loss ratio analysis,
- supporting the calculation of risk adjustment and best estimate liabilities.
- Participate in stress testing, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing for solvency, ORSA, and rating agency assessments.
- Help draft actuarial and risk management reports for regulators, auditors, and rating agencies.
- Contribute to exposure analysis, portfolio monitoring, and risk dashboards.
- Collaborate with underwriting, finance, and risk teams to understand business drivers and optimize performance.
- Learn and grow through mentorship from senior actuaries and risk professionals.
