Senior Financial Specialist

A successful candidate will have a strong financial modeling background and experience with financial reporting and control. This role focuses on assisting in the creation of financial reports for our company. You'll contribute to producing accurate and timely financial results, internal management reports, and maintaining internal control processes. Collaborate with various finance and business teams to ensure the proper recording of transactions, and support activities related to expenses and accruals.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead and ensure the smooth operation of all financial functions. Partner with senior management to establish and implement strategic financial objectives aligned with overall business goals.
- Oversee and participate in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Navigate Double Taxation Agreements and suggest optimal tax structures.
- Oversee the management of bank accounts in various countries, handle bank reconciliations and manage international banking transactions. Ensure adherence to AML and KYC principles.
- Establish internal reporting system tailored specifically to the company’s need and areas for improvement.
- Oversee and organize the bookkeeping, accounting and period end closure processes.
- Manage external and internal reporting deadlines effectively, ensuring adherence to all regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
- Manage international corporate tax and accounting compliance for multiple countries, coordinating with external tax advisors as needed.
- Oversee the preparation of the corporate tax, VAT, royalty, and dividend tax returns accurately and on time.
- Stay informed of evolving tax regulations and implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax structures.
- Lead the development and implementation of efficient cash flow management strategies among related companies.
- Continuously evaluate and improve internal financial processes and systems, driving automation and efficiency wherever possible.
- Implement and optimize financial technology solutions to streamline operations, enhance data accuracy, and improve reporting capabilities.
Requirements:
Technical Knowledge Requirements:
- Relevant degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance or Audit
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including double-entry bookkeeping, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Understanding of international tax regulations, particularly, corporation tax, VAT, royalty tax and dividend taxes, with the ability to research and apply them in different countries independently or with the help of international accounting/consulting firms.
- Skills in creating financial and managerial reports, including bank reconciliations, profit tax and VAT returns.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data from various sources to identify trends and make informed decisions.
- Understanding of banking systems, international banking transactions, AML and KYC principles
- Ability to read and comprehend Double Taxation Agreements and prepare suggestions for better structures for tax optimization purposes.
Soft Skills Requirements:
- Ability to work and decide independently according to the best interests of the company.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with colleagues, accountants, and project managers in multiple languages.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency in managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to identify and solve financial and accounting issues independently, with the initiative to research and their application.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, project managers, and external contacts.
- Willingness to learn new things, adapt to changing situations, and take on new challenges.
Preferred Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in finance or accounting, ideally with international exposure.
- Experience working with accounting softwares.
- Experience with VIES and VAT reporting for multiple countries.
- Some background or exposure to international tax regulations, particularly dividend taxes.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across different countries and cultures.
- Experience in effectively communicating with third party consultants and accounting firms.
- Experience in invoice issuance and adjustments.
- Experience in corporate and individual bank account opening processes in various countries.

Working hours: We work 4 days a week from 10 am to 7 pm in our office, Fridays are flexible. (13:00-14:00 lunch time)
