Role & Responsibilities:
Reservoir Engineer’s duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Implementation of Reservoir and Production Management System
- Utilize reservoir management standards and guidelines to enhance both NPV and hydrocarbon recovery
- Contribute to improving the quality and enriching the content of such documents as Field Development Plan, Surveillance Plan, Reservoir Uncertainty and Risk Management Plan
- Modeling:
- Model Construction: Developing and building reservoir simulation models that accurately represent the geological and engineering aspects of the reservoir.
- Reservoir Performance Prediction: Running reservoir simulation models to predict and analyze reservoir performance under different development scenarios, such as well placement, completion designs, and production strategies.
- History Matching: Performing history matching, which involves calibrating reservoir simulation models to match historical production and pressure data.
- Sensitivity Analysis: Conducting sensitivity analysis to evaluate the impact of various reservoir parameters, production strategies, or uncertainty factors on reservoir performance.
- Production Forecasting:
- Short-term Forecast: Preparing a short-term production forecasts using in-house production technical analytical forecasting tool
- Long-term Forecast: Preparing a long-term production forecasts to management, internal and external regulatory bodies using reservoir simulation model
- Supplement forecasts with uncertainty and risk evaluation
- Production Optimization:
- Production Monitoring and Analysis: Analysing reservoir performance data, production trends, pressure behaviour, and fluid properties to identify production challenges and recommend remedial actions.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize individual well performance, minimize losses / deferrals and optimize a field offtake rate by recommending a right balance of overall production levels
- Data Acquisition:
- Formulate data acquisition, strategic surveillance and monitoring plans related to exploration, appraisal and development phases to ensure optimal development and depletion strategies
- Define annual surveillance plans and identify required planning activity and estimate a budget
- Steer the implementation of annual surveillance plans
- Oversee data interpretation
- Generate and Share Learning:
- Facilitate collaboration and information sharing among multidisciplinary teams by overseeing a preparation of bi-annual Subsurface Field Reviews to share insights, gain understanding and disseminate learnings
- Participate in various reviews related to process, optimization, deferral management, etc.
- Project Management and Leadership skills
- Direct the preparation of important documents related to reservoir, production and project management
- Provide support for well and project planning processes, including drilling operations, well evaluations and facility options, production planning and optimization.
Essential Requirements:
- At least 5 years’ experience in reservoir engineering
- MSc degree in Petroleum/ Reservoir Engineering, related applied science or engineering
- Knowledge of analytical / numerical RE toolkit:
- PETEX IPM (Prosper, MBal, GAP)
- Numerical Reservoir Simulator (Intersect, Eclipse, Nexus or equivalent)
- Pressure Transient Analysis software (PIE or Sapphire)
- Reservoir Modelling and Simulation:
- Knowledge of fundamentals of numerical simulations
- Experience in updating reservoir simulation models and constructing sector models to investigate reservoir behaviour, evaluate development scenarios, and optimize production strategies.
- Experience in history matching (model calibration) of dynamic model
- Reserves Estimation and Evaluation:
- Knowledge of reserves estimation methodologies, including volumetric calculations, material balance, decline curve analysis, and probabilistic methods.
- Competence in evaluating reserves uncertainty, risk assessment, and compliance with regulatory
- Surveillance:
- Experience in designing and implementing reservoir surveillance programs to monitor reservoir performance, including pressure monitoring, fluid sampling, and production data analysis.
- Knowledge of PTA techniques and industry software to analyze transient data
- General analytical skills to analyze production data, recognize trends, gain insight and contribute to the team’s reservoir understanding
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration:
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, production engineers, petro-physicists, and economists.
- Integration of interpreted data and available knowledge to develop comprehensive reservoir understanding and optimize field development plans.
- Technical Leadership and Mentoring:
- Experience in providing technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to junior reservoir engineers.
- Ability to transfer knowledge, support professional development, and promote best practices within the team.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with Contractors, Suppliers, co‐workers, outside agencies, business partners
- Ability to perform effectively in a team environment demonstrating; collaborative, cooperative, flexible, adaptable, respectful, and tactful personal characteristics
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
- Experience of working on site is beneficial
- Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines
- Strong decision-making and problem solving skills
Senior Cost Engineer

Responsibilities & objectives:
- Cost reporting and monitoring (VOWD, phasing, forecast) for relevant area
- Cost performance monitoring and trend analysis
- Review and verification of Acts of Acceptance and Payment Certificates received from Contractors
- Assist in developing, controlling, and forecasting the project's budget
- Assist in preparing cost data for Project monthly reports and for senior SOCAR management
- Assist in preparing cost estimates for proposals and contract negotiations
- Support communications with Accounting, Planning, PSCM, Engineering, Drilling & Completion Teams in preparation of monthly reporting and inputs
- Cost risk analysis for Project
- Develop and/or revise cost and financial processes, procedures, work instructions
- Other tasks as required
Academic/ experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Economics/Engineering/Project Management or other relevant field
- Minimum 10 year experience in Oil & Gas, ideally in project execution on site, minimum 5 years of which as Cost Engineer
- Project controls / Contract Management experience of a multi-million portfolio projects preferably in Oil & Gas within major Operating Companies
- Experience of working with EPCI Contractors under different contract types
- Well-developed functional knowledge of financial accounting
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co‐workers, outside agencies, business partners, and consultants
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Azeri
- Ability to perform effectively in a team environment demonstrating; collaborative, cooperative, flexible, adaptable, respectful, and tactful personal characteristics
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint; SAP / Primavera P6 user
