Position name: Director of Project Management Department
The Director of Project Management is responsible for all projects assigned to the Project Management department by the Executive team. The primary function of this position will be to carry out the execution of major projects assigned to the department, such as setting up new facilities and business functions, standardizing business processes, automation rollouts and executing division initiatives.
The Director of Project Management will ensure to follow in-depth project planning for their assigned projects, with focus on scope, budget, schedule, etc., to ensure deliverables are met on time and on budget. The Director of Project Management will also ensure control over the assigned projects, project teams, and facilitate project success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Analyze completed projects to determine profitability and ideas for improvement;
• Maintain budget constraints during the pre-construction activities;
• Direct internal status meetings and produce recaps with corresponding Action Lists;
• Schedule resources, manage team workload, and prioritize / reprioritize tasks as needed;
• Develop a detailed project plan to track progress;
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs;
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques;
• Report and escalate to management as needed;
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks;
• Interface with all functional leaders to identify and secure functional resources for each assigned project as it gets approved to proceed by upper management;
• Determine all critical issues to execution of programs are identified and managed prior to escalation of issues into business inhibitors, facilitating program success;
• Ensure all business and financial evaluations and communications are made;
• Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing the Project Managers to meet departmental goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to;
• Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities;
• Conduct efficient and effective meetings;
• Update budgets and make cost projections necessary to complete the project;
• Perform an accurate take-off for a line item budget and for the purchase of material;
• Prioritize deliverables and assignments in order to meet deadlines.

Job Requirements
Education:
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business Management, Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5 years’ experience in Distribution/Fulfillment and Logistics / Supply Chain Systems or related experience required
• Project Management Leadership
• Supervisory/Management experience
Licenses or Certifications:
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
